The frameWhy it is shaped like thisT800 / T1100G
The Vire came out of two winters in the tunnel at Saint-Cyr-l’École and one very long argument about seat tubes. Luc wanted the Col with deeper tubes. Céline wanted a different bicycle. Céline was right, and the frame that came back from the third session was 110 grams heavier and quicker everywhere the road was not pointing up.
The sections are truncated aerofoils — full nose, cut tail — at the down tube, the seat tube and the fork. The seat stays meet the seat tube 150 mm below the top so the rear triangle can flex where an aero frame usually cannot. The post is a matched aero section with a 15 mm setback.
Above 34 km/h it is faster than the Col. Below it, it is a stiffer bicycle that asks a little more of you. On the flat road between Annecy and Ugine, in a two-up, it is worth about ninety seconds over twenty kilometres. Whether that matters is a question only you can answer.

Every size is drawn, not scaled. Across the five Vire sizes the head angle opens from 71.8° to 73.8°, the chainstay grows 405 to 409 mm and the reach 378 to 405 mm — because a rider who is 1.62 m does not want a shrunken version of a bicycle built for someone 1.88 m.
Move the size and the drawing moves with it. The numbers here are the numbers on the build card, measured on the plate in Annecy, and they are the ones we will check against whatever you ride now.
