Eligibility
Seven questions and a map. You find out which destinations are open to you, which are not, and what would have to change. Nobody calls you unless you ask.
10 minutes right now
We place nurses, doctors, midwives, radiographers, physiotherapists and care staff into Ireland, Canada, Germany, Australia and the UAE. You never pay us a fee. The employer does, once, on the day you start.
The route
Everything we do is the distance between where you are and where you are going. Four cities we recruit from, five we place into, and one office that keeps the file moving in between.
How it works
Four stages, with the durations we actually see. If yours is running long we will tell you why, in writing, every fortnight.
Seven questions and a map. You find out which destinations are open to you, which are not, and what would have to change. Nobody calls you unless you ask.
10 minutes right now
Registration certificate, transcripts, verification of employment from every job you have held, police clearance, and the language test. This is where most people lose time, so we chase it weekly.
3–6 weeks longer if you retake
NMBI, CNO, AHPRA, DHA or the German recognition authority. The regulator decides, not us and not the employer. We cannot speed this up; we can keep it from stopping.
4–9 months the long stage
Permit, visa appointment, flights, the first month’s accommodation, a bank account and a payroll number. Then a call in week one, week four and month three.
2–4 weeks after the licence
Our side of it
Most of what is wrong with international recruitment is done by people who look exactly like us from the outside. So here is the list, in public, where you can hold us to it.
Not a placement fee, not an administration fee, not a “documentation” fee, not a deduction from your first payslip. The employer pays us once, on your start date. If anyone using our name asks you for money, email amara@northline.health and we will deal with it that day.
Not us, and not any employer we work with. Your documents stay with you. We have ended two client relationships over this since 2018 and we would end a third tomorrow.
We will give you a range and the reason for it. When a regulator moves slowly we will say so rather than inventing a reason. Two of our five destinations regularly run past a year, and we say that before you apply, not after.
We run no active campaigns in the countries on the WHO health workforce support and safeguards list. If you are from one of them and you come to us directly, we will still help you — and we will tell you honestly which employers can lawfully hire you.
Where we place
They are not interchangeable. The regulator, the language bar, the money and the wait are different in each one, and the right answer depends on which of those you can least afford to get wrong.
A candidate story
“I had been told by two other agencies that I would be in Ireland by Christmas. Northline told me July, and I landed on the eleventh of July. That is the whole difference, and it took me two years to understand how much it was worth.”Grace Mwangi ICU nurse · Nairobi → St James’s Hospital, Dublin · nine months, 2024
For employers
Sixty-one hospital and care clients across five countries. Compliance evidence with every candidate, a named consultant, and a retention figure we publish whether it flatters us or not.
