What we keep, and why

Written by Marta and checked by a lawyer in Santa Cruz, in that order.

Terra Nera S.L.

When you book a room we keep your name, the dates, an email address, a telephone number and anything you told us about allergies, anniversaries or knees. We keep it because we cannot run a forty-two room hotel on an island with one boat a day without it.

We keep it for seven years, because Spanish tax law says so, and then it goes. If you write and ask for it earlier we will delete everything the law lets us delete, usually within a week, and Lucía will reply to tell you it is done rather than sending you a form.

We do not sell it, share it or hand it to a marketing company, because there is no marketing company. The newsletter goes out four times a year from a laptop in the office behind reception and there is an unsubscribe line at the bottom of it that works.

This website sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party analytics. It remembers one thing in your browser, and only if you switch it on: whether you wanted the ambient sound playing. That never leaves your device. The booking pages keep your choices in the page while you use them and forget them when you close the tab; nothing is sent anywhere until you press the button, and when you do it goes to reservas@terranera.es and nowhere else.

Card details are taken by our bank, never by us, and never through this site. If a page ever asks you for a card number, it is not ours.

The people responsible are Marta Ferrer and Lucía Herrera. Write to them at the address below, or telephone; the number reaches a desk with a person at it between eight in the morning and ten at night, Canary time.

Forty-two suites. Direct booking only — there is no agent between you and the island.
